Tough Luck Getting Tickets ...

Individual tickets will go on-sale on Saturday, September 20 at 12:00 noon. Tickets will be available for purchase at newyorkrangers.com, Ticketmaster charge-by-phone at 212-307-7171 and Ticketmaster outlets. Your purchase will be limited to four (4) tickets per game. Please be aware, inventory for 2008-09 individual games is extremely limited.
I think that basically means no chance for the general public to get Ranger tickets as brokers will eat them up in seconds. There is always StubHub or Ebay but I would suggest looking at season ticket holders who can't make it but want to sell to other Ranger fans. The two best places, if you are willing to make a leap of faith, are on the Rangers' Bulletin Board and HFBoards.

Happy hunting ...

"Navigating the Ticket Maze: Strategies for Scoring Hard-to-Get Tickets"

In the world of live entertainment, from sports events to concerts and theater shows, securing tickets to sought-after events can often feel like a Herculean task. As the demand for tickets continues to soar, many fans find themselves facing seemingly insurmountable obstacles in their quest for access. In this article, we will explore the challenges of obtaining hard-to-get tickets and provide strategies for increasing your chances of success. Whether you're eyeing the front row at a rock concert or hoping to cheer for your favorite sports team, this guide will help you navigate the ticket maze.

Part 1: The Frenzy for Tickets

1. The Ticketing Landscape

Ticketing for popular events has evolved significantly in recent years. Online platforms, pre-sales, and secondary markets have all played a role in shaping the ticketing landscape.

2. The Scalping Dilemma

Ticket scalping, or reselling tickets at inflated prices, has become a major concern for fans and organizers alike. Scalpers often snatch up tickets in bulk, leaving genuine fans at a disadvantage.

Part 2: Strategies for Securing Tickets

3. Join Fan Clubs and Mailing Lists

Many artists, bands, and sports teams offer early access to tickets for members of their fan clubs or mailing lists. This can be a valuable resource for securing pre-sale tickets.

4. Monitor Social Media and Forums

Stay connected to social media and online forums dedicated to your favorite artists or events. Fans often share information about pre-sales, discounts, and insider tips.

Part 3: Pre-Sales and VIP Packages

5. Pre-Sale Opportunities

Event organizers frequently offer pre-sale opportunities to certain groups, such as credit card holders or members of partner organizations. Be on the lookout for these special offers.

6. VIP Packages

Consider purchasing VIP packages that include premium seats, exclusive merchandise, and other perks. While these packages may come at a higher price, they can provide a memorable experience.

Part 4: Secondary Markets and Resale Tickets

7. Beware of Secondary Markets

Secondary ticket markets, like StubHub and Ticketmaster Resale, offer tickets for sale by individuals. Exercise caution when buying from these platforms, as prices can be significantly inflated.

8. Price Comparison and Negotiation

When using secondary markets, compare prices across multiple platforms and try to negotiate with sellers to secure a reasonable deal.

Part 5: FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. Why are tickets for popular events so hard to get?

The combination of high demand, limited supply, and scalping practices makes tickets for popular events scarce. Many fans vie for a limited number of seats.

2. Are there ethical concerns with buying from scalpers or secondary markets?

There can be ethical concerns associated with scalping, as it can drive up prices and disadvantage genuine fans. Purchasing from reputable secondary market platforms is generally a safer option.

3. How can I protect myself from ticket scams?

To avoid ticket scams, buy from official sources whenever possible, and be cautious when dealing with individuals on secondary markets. Verify ticket authenticity and use secure payment methods.

Securing tickets to high-demand events is a challenge that fans face regularly. While the ticketing landscape has become more complex, there are strategies you can employ to increase your chances of success. Joining fan clubs, monitoring social media, and exploring pre-sale opportunities are all valuable tactics for accessing tickets.

However, it's essential to remain vigilant and exercise caution, especially when using secondary ticket markets. While the thrill of attending a live event is undeniable, it's equally crucial to protect yourself from scams and inflated prices.

Ultimately, the pursuit of hard-to-get tickets is a testament to the enduring love fans have for their favorite artists, sports teams, and live entertainment experiences. With determination, savvy tactics, and a dash of luck, you can navigate the ticket maze and secure your spot at the event of a lifetime.
